Moyers: The Secret Government

Speaking of back in the day, here is a documentary that Bill Moyers put out and it is worth 90 minutes of your time.

You know that “American Idol” just isn’t that edifying if you really think about it.

Is that insulting? Too Bad!

Insulting, you ask? Well, that would depend on our sensitivities. And, this, in turn, depends on a person's education (not just formal education).

American Idol? This is my take: many people are delusional or want to be embarrassed on national TV. The audience likes to see that. It also likes games, adopting favorites and routing for them, much like on the holiest Sunday of the year--next week, Superbowl!

Entertainment is more important than anything else in our society. That's why much of tv, even news shows are more sensational and compete for entertainment. On most talk shows there's not talk or analysis, but yelling and insults.

I'm confident that America would be up in arms if American Idol's public votes were stolen or misappropriated! Secret gov you say?...

Of course, we're sensitive when anyone insults our god-given right to be #1.

Yet, not all is lost. And, there's some hope as we have lots of people who do care.... They just have to get involved for we can't surrender our country to the ignoramuses.

Gosh, don't you wish BushCo's reign was over already? Too bad we don't have a parliamentary democracy....

Another bright note: Bill Moyers has come out of retirement!

Dear George:

Yes, I am so glad that Bill has come out or retirement. And I am also bereft that we have two more years of this administration. And you are right about so many things.
